Currently, I am full-time student in Cypress College. This is my second semester, and I still need to finish my pre-
reqs. I am thinking about year later; I might be able to apply for lvn-rn program. But how long is the wait-list?
I asked one of the counslors, and she said I don't have to wait at all, and I just have to get 2.0 GPA or better.
But she seemed like she was in rush b/c there was too many students waiting outside. I know that there is long
wait list for regular RN program in Cypress, but I never met anyone who is actually in LVN-RN program. Anyone
knows how long is a wait-list? Also, what is average GPA to get in? Thanks! :)

hey. i'm also trying for the lvn-rn program.
when i went to the workshop, dennis vo mentioned that most likely you will have to wait 1-2 semesters to get in if there are no space available right away. also, some of my former classmates from lvn school and already taking the proficiency tests and skills testing to get into the nursing transition class that is offered only in the fall
you have to take 2 proficiency tests that are only offered in the fall
you have to take 1 skills test that is only offered in the spring
you have to take nursing transition 90 class that is only offered in the summer
and take TEAS exam
all these must be taken in this order. i don't know about teas can be taken earlier, but those other ones i mentioned have to be in that order.
deadline for registration for proficiency testing is October 21
there were couple lvns in the workshop and we asked about the GPA and she just said an example like one student has 3 As in her core science class compared to someone who had 2 As and 1 B in her core science classes. they will choose the straight A student for that one spot that is available.
and Cypress Nursing has very smart students that start the RN program in the first year, they all have usually the maximum points and i was informed that 3rd semester is the HARDEST.
I will register in 2012 for the proficiency test in October

Hi. Does cypress college only have LVN-RN bridge program? I am currently a pre-nursing student in CSULB and I was wondering If I can apply for the registered nursing program in cypress with the pre-reqs that I've done in LB. Or do I need to be a LVN first, in order to apply for RN program in cypress?
