Anyone on the Cabrillo College wait list?

Published

It's definitely the slowest moving wait list I've encountered yet. In the past six months I've moved up less than 40. Other nursing program director's with wait lists have spoken of going through at least a hundred spots on the wait list when filling the current class. What gives with Cabrillo? Why is it soooo slow?

How is Cabrillo's program? anyone would like to share.

the llist moves quicly at first, because of the amount of people (10% drop @ 700 is 70, but when u get to #70 same 10% drop is only 7)... i moved from 700's to the 100's pretty fast but have inched along since then. I started the list in june 07 and am now set to start aug '11. good luck!

I've never seen a wait list move as slowly as Cabrillo's does. I guess that "guarantee" of admission helps, as well as the fact that they are the only program I know of that doesn't have a pre admission testing requirement.

that's true, i looked at others and they had a pre test - but, in theory, we should do fine if we are truly prepared enough to be on a list right? I looked at others but they all had more classes, or min units at thier school policies... so I just waited.

I'm graduating the Cabrillo program next week and it's a great program and was well worth the wait. Don't worry, you'll get there!

so cool... I am anxious about starting, and finishing lol. Just about to order my skills kit today :) Any helpful tips or advice?

I NEED HELP! I'm taking the Theory Test next week for advanced placement for the Spring 2013 RN Program. How should I study? Does anyone know what's going to be on the test. I want to prepare well!

Hi Penny112,

I'm planning on applying to Cabrillo & setting myself up for the long waitlist. I wanted to ask you how easily you were able to find a job after graduating? My worry is it isn't accredited by either the CCNE or NLNAC, and I have heard/read it could be a factor when getting hired. Your input (or anyone else that might be reading the original thread) would be much appreciated!

Thank you,

Abigail
