Anyone applying to University of South Alabama Nursing Program?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hey everyone!

I'm applying to University of South Alabama's Traditional Nursing Program for Fall 2015 cycle. Just checking in to see if anyone else is applying for the same program in the Fall. I believe the deadline is April 1st so I definitely wanted to make sure that I started the application cycle early. I don't know much about the program except for what I read online but I believe it is a great school considering the facts that I read on the Alabama board of nursing website. They have a high passing rate for their school which is important to me when I choose a school to attend. I'm really excited about this process and I REALLLYYY hope that I get into the school!! Whoever wants to join we can share updates about interview letters and acceptance letters and any other information about the application process or school that we want to share!

I know a few people who went there. It is a tough school and they require a lot of clinicals. I'm applying for the np program there for the fall.

Really?! Did they attend the accelerated or traditional program? Well it's great that they require a lot of clinicals because that would be great for the experience before actually working. When is the deadline for the np program?

Yes I know at least 1 person who did the accelerated program to obtain a BSN. The deadline for MSN applicants for NP school was 4/1

On this website I have seen a lot of responses for the accelerated program but not much regarding the traditional program. The deadline was March 15th for the traditional program. I believe there is an interview if selected.

what was your GPA when applying, if you dont mind me asking?

I had two separate GPAs on the evaluation sheet for the prereqs, one for general courses and the other for nursing prereqs, so I'm not sure which one they will be using or if it will be averaged in.
