Anyone have advice for LS1?

Hi All, I am studying for LS1 now and it seems to be a ton of material. Any words of advice? SG101 help? I am using a MED/Surg book and going over everything!!! I would really love to finish taking all my exams by the new year!

Thanks!!

Hi there!

Took this one today and got an A!!! Praise God!!!

It was a hard test and somewhat different than the ones before (the "non LS-series" :)

Know your meds, your dietary instructions and restrictions. Lots of specific questions on signs and symptoms related to "x" condition/illness.

I used the Saunders NCLEX 5th edition to review all systems, did practice questions on that CD; used the Med-Surg book listed on the EC study guide to review some concepts; used the Pharmacology book listed on the EC guide; and Google to check ANYTHING I wasn't sure about when reading all this material. Also, if you can afford it, do the EC Practice Exams. I'm sure you read it here before - they're invaluable! SG 101 doesn't do it for me, neither does Lisa Arends.

Usually, I do Form A before starting to study to have an idea of where I am. Then I study using the resources above. Finalize by taking Form B, and reading Form A and B over and over again... and again... and again :)

It has worked so far: have gotten all A's, except for Chronicity (got a B). Only have LS2 and 3 left, plus Micro and Devel.Psych.

Good luck with your studies!!!
