Hello everyone,
After 2 years of waiting I finally got accepted to Akron's BSN program for this fall! I'm really excited and I'm going crazy just waiting for NS to begin
Anyway, is there anyone here that graduated from the University of Akron? How did you like the nursing program and the instructors? Was it extremely difficult? I know nursing school is no cakewalk but it seems like some schools are more prestigious than others. Any advice on instructors? LOL...and maybe how to prepare myself for clinicals? The fall semester starts Aug 25th but clinicals do not start until Sept 15th - I'm excited but VERY nervous! Maybe things have changed but I know that we start our clinicals in a nursing home (it seems like a lot of nursing schools are like that!) do we spend our entire first year in a nursing home or just the first semester?
Sorry for all of the questions - I'm just really curious!
anyone?

When you say some schools are more prestigious than others, what schools would that be?
....meaning that some schools may be difficult than others/have more strict guidelines than others? For example, my school considers a C- as failing and you're allowed to repeat a class/clinical ONCE, and if you fail the second the time then you're kicked out of the program for at least five years. Some schools follow that policy, some are a little more lenient and others are more strict. I'm not trying to offend anyone or put down other nursing schools or saying that Akron is *the* hardest nursing school out there, I just asked a simple question.
