Any students with massage therapy backgrounds?

I'm curious if there are any other massage therapists who are switching careers to become Nurses?

Specializes in mental health / psychiatic nursing.

I'm not one, but there were several in both my pre-reqs and in my nursing cohort who had been massage therapists before transitioning to nursing.

I was a massage therapist! The reason I decided to get into nursing is because I wanted to be even more involved in helping people, and was also fascinated about everything I learned in the short version of the A and P class we had. I had to retake it for prereqs in nursing, but loved it.

Another reason I am going for it is because I had moved to a city when I took massage therapy class, where there were tons of opportunities. After some time I discovered that I hated living there. Moved back to my hometown where I practiced massage for awhile, but due to the lack of demand for the field could not build a reliable income with it. I worked in my hometown for awhile as a massage therapist, but the place I worked for closed down. After some time, I decided to go back to school to go for nursing. I have many family members who are nurses so I have a great idea of what the job will entail. I am so excited for my classes to begin this fall!
