Are there any psych RN's out there interested in furthering education in psych or addictions such as (NP or counseling). If so I'd love to hear your ideas or experiences. Thanks.

I am...I was in the process of getting my BSN but have to put it on hold because I'm moving across the country in the fall. Since I already have a BA, I'm thinking of skipping the BSN altogether and in a couple of years, going straight for a MSN in psych/mental health nursing. I haven't decided if I want to stop there or go for the DNP.

Am currently in a Psych/MH NP program and will finish in a year. I hope this last year goes by fast because the program is busy and intense. I miss the travel RN life.

I am currently in a MSN program for Family Psychiatric Mental Health NP. With this program, I was able to use my BA and take a few bachelor level courses to bridge at the same time as the masters courses. Just finished my first year and have probably 2 more to go (taking those bridge classes added some time)....also thinking about maybe going a little longer to do the FNP requirements to have other options open when job searching. Start focusing on the mental health related courses more in the fall and clinical in the spring - very excited!
