I'm new here and hoping for some feedback. I'm an experienced RN (diploma grad from early 90s), looking to make a move into travel nursing. I've done exclusively Outpatient Pediatric Hem/Onc for the past 12+ years (i.e., "Day Hospital"), and NICU/PICU for ~10 years prior to that. Was a paramedic before/during nursing school.
I feel like I've been away from "floor" nursing for too long to really consider that, but could easily do Pedi Infusion Center, outpatient Ped Hem/Onc, and likely Peds ER (lots of triage and management of acutely ill Ped H/O kids, and superior IV skills). I am CPHON certified. Also have PALS, BLS, moderate sedation, chemotherapy/biotherapy provider certification).
Are there any outpatient/ambulatory peds hem/onc or pedi infusion center travel assignments out there....ever? Would a Pedi ER consider someone with my background? Would love to hear from some nurses who have been successful in securing those kinds of assignments.
