Any LPNs here that make under $600 a week

Hello all! You see I’ve been an lpn at a skilled ltc facilty for almost 2 years. I love my job but I see that I’m underpaid. When I first started I was at 18.15 an hr taking home $650 a week. Now I make 19.13 an hour. My take home pay is about $580 when taxes and health insurance are taken out. I am also full time 5 days a week. My yearly salary is about $31000 before taxes. I live in NYS. I don’t want to leave my current job but I’m not too happy with the pay. ? should I keep this job full time and get a per Diem position elsewhere? How does per Diem work?

Good day. I too am an LPN. I have been a nurse for several years now. I began looking into work as a visiting nurse throughout the country and I ironically found some pretty good job offers for LPN's. I have been looking for a spot as a travel nurse in a hospital. I saw that there are lots of opportunities to work there and there is a high earning potential. One job that stood out to me on the NYC- HEALTH AND HOSPITALS website was the managerial position as a Lead in Field Coordinator for a hospital. The job pays about $93,000 annually. There's another position for the Assistant Director of the Hospital, it pays as high as $100,000.00 annually. I'm not sure if you were looking for a job on a website like Indeed or Craigslist (known for spamming) but even a basic LPN hired in a hospital gets about $45,000.00 annually just to work in the Operating Room... If you have an advanced degree like a BSN or higher, your pay potential will increase. I hope this helps!

Same boat. I make $21 on evening shift right now I have 2 years experience in New York. But I’m going back to day shift and lose the shift differential and will be at around $19. I typically do a few shifts of overtime a pay period and my check will be around 1600. I also just applied to agency because I feel I am ready and will be doing some shifts on my weekends off for extra money because agency where I am is about $28 an hour. The struggle is real - but If you throw in some overtime it’s nice then you don’t ever not want to have overtime lol. It’s my motivation to get my butt back in school to make more money ?
