If you search google, especially for Indian Health Service programs, you will find many. If you're not a rural type, I think Fairbanks, Juneau and Anchorage are good choices. I plan to go this route once I have my NP, and most of my research has been in relation to this, but I do know that I found programs that would do loan repayment for RN's as well. National Health Service Corps also has programs for RN's, so check there as well. A few hours spent searching the web will give you lots of choices. I'll be interested if anyone has any firsthand information though. It'd be good to hear from someone who has been there and done it!
I suggest deciding how remote you'd like to be. As a new nurse, it might be a difficult situation to be in a remote area that does not have many health care providers - such as one of the native villages. However, there are fabulous opportunities in Anchorage and Fairbanks and on the Kenai Penninsula. Juneau is also very nice as is Ketchican. I'm currently south on an island, Kodiak, and it is pretty rural. My daughter spent a day in the peds ICU up in one of the Anchorage hospitals and I was impressed with the hospital. I'd be happy to try to answer any other questions.

I will graduate with ADN in December. I'm looking for info on relocating to Alaska. Any info on where to look, how to register, who to contact? Can I get my loans paid off? I'm open to any information so I have a place to start. Thanks.
