Any Hennepin Technical Fall 2009 LPN Students?

Published

Just seeing if there is anyone else on here that got into Hennepin Technical's LPN program for the 2009 Fall semester?

I did are you going to go to BP or EP?

Congrats! I got in at Brooklyn Park. What about yourself?

Me to Full Time how about you?

Same! I had to completely rework my work schedule around it. Which has been a major pain, but what can you do?

What classes are you in?

I have Nursing Skills1 Mon 10-12 and Tues 1-4

Adult Nursing1 Tues 9-11

Pharm Wed 1-3:20 and Thurs 12-3

And then the Intro in to PN M 1-3

At least we can kinda know each other going in.

I just entered the LPN program at HTC as well, I'm taking classes at both BP and EP... how are you all liking it so far?

Well I don't think I've ever read so much in one week! But I find it all really interesting, but I am not gonna lie, Pharm kinda freaks me out. I was reading the text book and I have NO idea how I am going to manage to remember all those conversions. And knowing what each drug does and what to look for in side effects, that is gonna be a major pain.

How are you liking the first week so far? What classes are you talking and what do you have at BP?

It's funny you say that about Pharm because I thought the same thing! I'm not so hot with math so I was definitley worried-but after talking to a woman I know pretty well whose in 2nd semester I felt alot better! She said that Pharm was the easiest of all the classes, that the math is not as difficult as it looks (you can use a calc), and to not be intimidated because it looks way more difficult that it is. I'm talking Pharm and Intro at BP, both with J.B. (I'm not sure if I should give her name?) on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wed/Tues. I have Skills 1 at EP (and I absolutely LOVE the instructer, I also have her for Health on Fridays), and on Thurs. I have Adult 1 at EP as well. The same woman who told me that Pharm was the easiest also said that Adult 1 is the hardest because of the dense material, and that Skills isn't too bad either once you get over the initial "testing out" anxiety. Are you only at BP? Are you going PT or FT?

Well that makes me feel a little better! Yes, I am full time at BP. I have Nursing Skills 1 Mondays and lab on Tuesday, I have Adult 1 on Tuesdays. And Pharm on Wed and lab on Thursdays. It looks like we are on complete opposite days haha. Skills seems ah...interesting. Our instructer left the room for like and hour on the first day I thought that was kinda strange, but I guess I'll have to go to all those open labs to get some practice in. From what I have read of Adult 1 I find it really interesting. But lets see how that goes further into the semester. Well at least we can come on here and ask questions to others on this site!
