Any Floridians taking Deaconess??

Just wondering if there were any Floridians taking or have taken the program. If so, were you able to transfer credit hours to a school in FL? Did you have any problems with Clinical sites? Problems with the Florida Board of Nursing? Thanks in Advance

Hi...I am a new Deaconess student, starting this Fall Session. I have not tried to transfer any credits yet...but I do not see a reason for a problem since they have proper accredition.

I emailed the Florida State Board of Nursing regarding the program and they told me that they could not guarantee anything in advance but that from what I described about the program it appeared to be acceptable. I am confident though that I will not have a problem as Deaconess is NLN accredited and Missouri State Board accredited. I plan to sit for FL State boards but if there is a problem, I will sit for Missouri boards and then get a Florida license by endorsement. My mother-in-law is an LPN who moved to Florida from Missouri and had no problem getting endorsement in Florida.

I did have to do a little leg work to find a clinical site, but within a month I found a great hospital in Haines City (suburb of Orlando) that was excited to offer me all the clinical support I need.
