If there are any AF OB/GYN nurses out there would love to have the opportunity to speak with you. I am applying to become an AF nurse and would like to get your opinions about/experiences in the AF. I did a semester of clinicals at Wilford Hall and loved the experience, however I was with an MSN nurse, not a staff nurse. I'm sure my opinions otherwise would be no different but I'd like to hear more about staff nursing in the AF. If any of you have worked as a civilian nurse too I'd welcome any comparing and contrasting points of view (what do you like/dislike about military nursing versus civilian). I have civilian experience and I'm hoping that won't make my transition more difficult. There are many reasons that I want to join the AF, but with respect to OB, I like that I would have the opportunity to work with midwives. I'd love to hear from anyone who wants to chime in. Thanks in advance!
