Any Advice for Dec 2010 NG applying in CA?

I've recently been reading with much interest the experiences/stories some new nurses have had trying to apply out in SoCal as I intend to start the same in about a week. I have contacted approx. 15 hospital entities out there and have a fair idea of when New Grad app's are going to be accepted (beginning of Sept, upto Nov for some). Does anyone have advice before I begin the arduous process of sending resume, app, or calling? Anyone have similar experience last year around this time? What are your thoughts? I am completing an ADN and moving straight into my RN-BSN 1 year completion starting spring 2011 but intend to find work while doing this! Thankkkkk you
