Any advice about A and E in New Zealand

Hi All,

I'm hoping to spend a year in New Zealand and don't know whether to go through an agency or not. I need to find out what my options are as I am 33 and too old for a working holiday visa.

I don't want to spend my whole year working in one place, as I would like to spend some time travelling in both islands.

I would love to hear if anyone has any top tips or advice for me.

I have been working in A and E for 3 years in one of the teaching hospitals in London, and would Ideally hope to work in A and E in New Zealand.

Cheers and Beers

Wee bonnie lass

Hi, I don't know if this will be helpful, but I found on allnurses.com a journal "Accident and Emergency Nursing," and I wondered if it would have, in the classifieds perhaps (if it carries those), info about New Zealand, as to contacts. I know you want personal experience/viewpoints, but perhaps the journal would give you some leads as to folks who could help, in addition to the nurses here.

Here's a quote from the Web page for the journal https://allnurses.com/jump.cgi?ID=1752 that mentions New Zealand, which is why I thought of you, having seen your post earlier today:

"Members of the Emergency Nurses' Section (New Zealand) and the Queensland Emergency Nurses' Association are eligible for a reduced subscription rate to Accident & Emergency Nursing. Please visit the Subscribe page for further details."

I don't know if the "Emergency Nurses' Section" would be a helpful contact.

You might already know about any or all of the above, but just in case, I thought I'd mention it to you.
