Hello all!
I am finishing up an ANP (AGPCNP) program in October and specialize in critical care. I am planning to set some time aside and take the CCRN this year prior to graduation. I have several job offers for hospitalist jobs, but still want to look into critical care medicine. The most reasonable course of action to me would be to be formally trained through an AGACNP Post-Masters Certificate program/DNP program.
I am trying to find the most convenient online option as it would basically just be clinical rotations. Does anyone have any advice on those who have ventured these options? I would do one in-person, but there are few PMC program options in South Florida other than Barry University for Acute Care. Really, just want to find a program that will allow me to do my clinical hours quickly and let me get the hands-on experience I need to be proficient in the skills. Perhaps I am being naive or presumptious, but I feel that my CCU experience has well prepared me to be an Intensitivist NP with the correct clinical experience and additional pharmacology training.
Thoughts? Advice? Please be as harsh as is necessary to get me on the right track!
Thanks!

If you can work for a year in an acute care setting you could apply to the UPenn streamlined AGACNP program, you need a year of acute care experience as an NP to apply to this online program for primary care prepared NPs with acute care practice experience
