ANP to FNP

I am licensed as an ANP with the ANCC and as an advanced practice nurse prescriber with my state (WI). I'm finishing post masters work for FNP and will be able to sit for that exam in May. Does anyone know if there is any shortcut one can take with the ANCC to get permission to test? Since I've already been vetted by them, they really should only need to know that I have completed the additional coursework. Yes I will contact the ANCC but by experience I know I won't get a quick or even an accurate response. I'm just wondering what other people have done????? Thanks, MV

I was a ANP/GNP (ANCC) and went on to become certified as a FNP (I took the AANP). I'm here to tell you that there are no shortcuts whatsoever. After you finish your program, you have to apply to take the exam, submit paperwork (I believe your director takes care of that for the ANCC) and go the very same route as someone who isn't a NP. Sorry!
