Ambulatory surgery daily assignment

Is having a daily assignment necessary in an ambulatory surgery unit? Currently my unit don't have daily assignment sheets. Staff are divided in pre-op and post-op areas, and we just take assumed roles in making sure we complete our pre-op/post-op calls, and stocking up the unit. Lately, my unit is complaining about people not helping, and the head nurse is not proactive. We went to our manager but she believes an assignment is not necessary, but I feel like it is because it defines exactly what everyone suppose to do and not assumed. Do you think daily assignments in an ambulatory surgical setting necessary or not? If your unit has one, what does it have? Can you share so I have an idea to create one? Thank you

Hey! Pre/post/pacu nurse. So in my dept we divide the patient load by provider (general/gyn/ortho/gu/gi some nurse go to GI and pre and post where other nurse have a a few patients per provider plus a DI patient. N after they are done then its chart checks post op calls etc. but people still complain. And now upper management wants us to do 1:2 starts at a time. How do yall get your 0730 patients ready? Whats the schedule like? Ours are done by arrival.
