Am I making the right decision?

Published

Hi,

I am in my final year in school and it's time to decide on a route to go down in university. I've been thinking strongly abut pursuing a degree in General nursing. I've always wanted to work with people and I decided to either become a nurse or social worker. However, I have seen online that a lot of people feel unhappy with their decision to have become a nurse.

Of course, I know a lot of people are happy with their job (my mom is a nurse and likes her job) but I want to make sure that I'm making the right decision.

Thank you in advance for any information.

Only you can determine if you have made the right decision. People choose to go into nursing for a variety of reasons. All jobs have good days and bad days, as well as pros and cons. Most of the time, you'll see people go online to rant about their bad days as opposed to their good days.

I would suggest doing some research on what nursing entails, and some research about the things you'll do in the program. Talk to your mom about it some more, and maybe try to network with more nurses. Maybe that will help guide your decision.
