Hello, Was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to how long a typical Air force assignment is. I signed a 4 year contract and I am slotted to go to Lackland and was wondering what the current length of an assignment would be there and if I would get another slot within a four year time frame.

You can apply for overseas assignment at two years or educational assignments at the 3yr mark.
