I am applying to the 2019 Airforce NTP program. My recruiter told me the Board starts looking at applications this week (July 15) for new applicants. I graduate in August so I am a late applicant, but have everything submitted, I just haven't passed my NCLEX yet. I've heard many different things with the number of applicants or how difficult it is to get it or when your supposed to hear back.
I would just like to know hear about people's experience and when they think they will hear back. I feel like I am an average applicant with a solid package and a 3.6 gpa. I don't have a stellar package with a 3.9 GPA and prior military experience. I am super nervous and would like to hear back ASAP, but I realize thats not how the military works.
Please comment with thoughts, comments, or when you hear back on acceptance, my recruiter said around August.

Hi there! I'm planning to apply for the 2021 AF NTP program (so I'm not helpful with your questions sorry!?) but if you could share any information or tips regarding the process to get the point where you are now that would be awesome. My Health Professions AF Recruiter said he does not do in person meetings until after I graduate in 2021 so I'm having a hard time getting tips and advice.
Thanks ?
I met my recruiter at a career fair probably back in March 2019. It has been alot of back and forth with answering questions, filling out applications, getting medical clearances, ect. I have had 1 phone interview and 1 in person interview with the chief of nursing and went though MEPS about a month ago. The deadline for the application was July 1st I believe and I submitted everything a few weeks prior. My recruiter said it takes about 4-6 weeks to hear back so I will hear back around mid August which is around my graduation. I hear its pretty competitive but have heard from 10-40% acceptance rate so I think it varies depending on the year. Both interviews were very relaxed, the worst part for me was getting medical information about a knee surgery I had. It is alot of back and forth and takes forever. I am very anxious because this is definitely my first choice for a job, but it's a waiting game now.
-Hope this helped, if you have any questions let me know!
Thank you so much!! Best of luck to you!
