Hello,

I was trained as a general nurse at a vocational institution from 2013 to 2016 and emigrated to Australia after that. I got married and had a child, so my application with AHPRA got a bit delayed. I have sent the second application (the first one had some documents missing) and they received it 18th of May. I am waiting for an answer which apparently takes 6-8 weeks, however I have read on an other thread a few years prior that it took up to 7 months for someone!! Only to then get refused.

I am living in NSW and plan to work either there or in ACT. I am just looking for people who are in the same situation or similiar. I have experienced myself that AHPRA doesnt seem to be exactly forthcoming when it comes to giving you CLEAR information and generally being transparent regarding what exactly they are doing in their little offices and why you have to pay so much and why so many people get refused or are made to do a really expensive bridging course. I am beginning to think you just have to hassle people long enough to get what you want these days. Any advice?
