After NCP

Do individuals accepted into the Navy Nurse Candidate Program do NROTC while still in school or just BOLC after?

NROTC and NNCP are two separate programs. You don't do them together. It's a one or the other kind of scenario.

Unconfirmed: I was told that NROTC folks skip the initial training and head right to their duty stations upon passing NCLEX. My friend (an LTJG) said that the Navy assumes you competent from your NRTOC years to proceed directly to your duty station as you've already had military training.

With NNCP, not so much. You don't actively train in NNCP, so you go to officer's training after passing NCLEX and then proceed to your duty station.

If you are NCP, all you do is go to school. Your job is to maintain your 3.0 GPA and be physically fit. Once you graduate, you to go ODS (Officer Development School). BOLC is Army, not Navy.

As SoldierNurse22 states, NROTC is a completely separate program. We had some NROTC folks in our ODS class, so it may vary on whether or not they send you. Not really sure why these folks had to go and they clearly had learned more than we knew. But it is a way to meet some people before heading to your first duty station!
