Hello,
so I am a relatively new nurse. I worked for a year in somewhat slow paced group home and now I am about to start a new job in emergency room. I'm feeling a bit scared so I'm looking for some encouragement... Any personal stories or advise you guys could share with me?
thanks :)

The first few months will be hard. You will want to be perfect but will fall short of that expectation. You will make mistakes. You will be awesome. You will have good days. You will have bad days. You will make it through. You will be the nurse you always imagined being.
Please get your rest, exercise, and eat right. It's a tough transition so be ready for it. When you realize that you are actually viewed as competent by your peers, it is a great feeling!
Congratulations to you - you're gonna do great.

I too will be a new nurse very soon & I plan on just taking things one day at a time. It's impossible to know everything at once so take as much as you can in & learn from your mistakes.
Good luck!!!

The ER felt like a thankless place to have a nursing career for me.. People in and out in a variety of moods and conditions.. easy place to burn out IMHO.
