I have taken and failed the NCLEX twice now, not only am I beyond embarrassed I am now also getting discouraged. The first time I was not prepared at all, I had just had a baby 3 weeks prior and should of rescheduled but I didn't. This last time I bought the $30 app and used that for study also did a little Kaplan. I am 1 of 8 that failed from my class of 18 students which is unheard of from what I've been told by all my nursing friends. My school experience was the worst, between a few other students giving the class a bad name and the instructors constantly telling us we were the worst class (behavior wise) in the schools history. I feel like they didn't care to give us a good foundation. More often then not we were told that we were adult students and need to figure it out ourselves. I have a close friend currently in the program and she tells me that they still are making rude remarks about my class, especially when they found out how many of us failed. They are also treating that class completely different then they treated mine. I made good grades during the program, but I can't seem to pass this test. Both times I have gotten 205 questions. Any tips on which direction I should go with preparing myself would be extremely appreciated!

Hay.casey Not sure if there is a magic answer here. I'm surprised your school did not have an adjunct prep program like HESI or ATI. It is in their best interest for the program if you pass this test. The more failures the more the chance of the school being put on probation for the nursing program. There are plenty of prep book for the NCLEX PN. By now you should have an idea of the content for the questions. You need your core skills of critical thinking, medication, disease, treatment. I took ATI with my program and passed on the first try, my other classmates are starting to take the test and 4 out of 4 have passed. ATI is expensive, if you are serious, you need to put some serious study into it. I studied all my material after my program was complete for a good 2 months and accessed 3 books and my block of ATI books. Do test questions from online if you don't want to invest in books. We were told to do 100 questions a day. your nursing board should have some sort of summary of the topics for the test questions as well Good luck, don't give up
