I am looking for a less stressful job in nursing and was looking at becoming an Advice Nursing. Is there any advice on getting a job as an Advice Nurse? The add says you have to pass a standard medication test and standard medical advice test and PBDS test. Is there any advice on how I can get a copy of a book to help me prepare for these test? I have not worked for 1 1/2 years so I am a bit concerned about getting a job.

If "KP" is what I think it means, the job is definately NOT low stress. My wife used to work in a "KP" call center as one of the nurses and as a supervisor. It was a nightmare. God help you if you have to go to the bathroom and its not your break time. Definately don't be late back from break because it IS monitored to the second (not that I would ever condone long breaks). The next call comes in even if you're not finished charting from the previous. Call times too long? Better get it down before your probationary period is close to ending. Software was cumbersome. Member complaints about you are presumed to be your fault unless it can be proven otherwise.
She said it was like a slave ship, only it was an ocean of cubicles. Hopefully things have changed for the better.
Thanks!! This does not seem like a job I would like to have. Is there a position there that she did liked or was it the same way with all positions at the hospital?
