hi! I got into the NYU Rory Meyers College of nursing for their traditional four-year BSN program. I live in California and would like to move back here in the future. the only thing is that the Meyers BS Nursing traditional program does not meet the educational requirements for licensure in California. for example, NYU does have a Microbiology course but it is does not a Microbiology WITH LAB course. does anyone know what I should do if I do want to come back to California and work as a RN here? do I take extra courses at community college, and if so, do you know which specific courses? the CA Board of Nursing website was not really helpful when I was researching about it.
I also got into the University of San Francisco for their four-year BSN program, and this program satisfies all the educational requirements for the California RN licensure. however, I would love to go to NYU because it is a new experience and I see myself there as a student. it is also an opportunity for me to grow and gain new life experiences. I think I would have some regrets if I choose USF over NYU, but USF is the safer option if I want to 100% know that I can come back to work in California.
please give me advice, especially if someone has experienced this situation before. I have less than a day to decided (because commit day is 5/1...) thanks!
