Adverse reactions to high dose Sandostatin?

Hey all,

I was just curious if a one time high dose of Sandostatin would cause severe adverse reactions? I gave it to a patient and then he complained of abdominal pain, which he had been complaining about due to his diagnosis of colorectal cancer with a new diagnosis of a bowel neuroendocrine tumor, but it made me nervous it was making it worse with an increased dose. He normally gets 200mcg 3xper day subq. I gave him 500mcg x1. I don't know much about sandostatin so I appreciate any input! Thanks!
