ADN vs. ABSN vs. MSN-direct entry

Hello everyone,

I am a 3rd year psychology student and about to get my BA. I have decided that I want to pursue nursing, and ultimately become a PMHNP-DNP. I have done HOURS of research, and there are just so many options I could choose to get to that outcome. I have considered just transferring my university credits to a local community college and get an ADN then BSN then DNP. I have also looked at Vanderbilt's MSN pre-specialty program as well. I have also considered an ABSN program, but that would require me to not work, which I cannot afford. Also, an ABSN program has A LOT of prerequisite courses that the MSN doesn't even require. Since admission to the ABSN is only in the fall, I would have to wait an extra semester to apply after completing my prereqs.

I would really appreciate any advice you could give!
