ADN to MSN drawbacks?

Are there any missed opportunities or drawbacks to go from an A.D.N program to a M.S.N program without going through a B.S.N. program first?

I haven't experienced any at all. I just got a teaching position at a local college, and am pursuing my DNP.

I am employed by a Magnet facility in Critical Care.

LOVING the fact that I didn't have to putz around on a lower degree to get to where I am now.

One point that was made by a CNP on my unit is that if you ever want to work for HHS, IHS, or the VA, missing your BSN can have a negative effect on how your grade requirements are evaluated. Your BSN is one step on the government ladder that they want you to meet.

Of course, this is per one provider that worked for IHS and the VA, so if there are other nurses out there with conflicting insight, I'm all ears!

Also interested in this topic. I'm so torn. I graduate with my ASN in May and I feel pressure to decide what to do. I'm nervous that if I wait too long to go back, that I will become complacent
