ADN to BSN "without transfering credits"

Published

I am currently thinking about attending a private school for their ADN program. (Sanford Brown) One of the many drawbacks people state is you cannot transfer credits to another school or program and further your education if you decide to at a later date. From my understanding once you obtain your RN license there are many online programs, such as the University of Pheonix, that allow you to obtain your BSN without haveing to "transfer credits". Are my assumptions correct?

You can't transfer your nursing courses if you haven't graduated. If you actually get your Associate's then everything will transfer fine. What people are talking about is if you transfer while you're still in the program, most schools don't take nursing credits from a program that was not completed. So for example, if you did two nursing classes and wanted to change in the middle of the program, you'd have to redo those nursing classes.
