which program should I go through? I am currently a CNA working in home health care and I am trying to gain employment in a hospital but, there seems to be not that many positions for CNAs/PCT in general compared to other positions in my area(Bay Area). I am looking for 30-40 hour night job and most Acute CNA positions seem to be per diem, part time, or strictly days. I have been browsing hospital/job websites lately and there seems to be a lot of EKG positions with less experience requirements than Acute CNA (Acute CNA=3-5 years, EKG=1 year) that have more desirable and varied positions and opportunities. The EKG program is slightly longer so I am assuming I would gain more clinical experience and more time to network in the program. Plus, I heard a lot of CNAs do EKG in hospitals anyways so, it might be more valuble experience. Which out of the two is an easier job to get into? Will I be able to work at night as a EKG tech(I am a pre-nursing student and need days for school)? EKG seems less competative compared to Acute CNA/PCT, is this true? Thanks:nurse:
