ACLS/PALS Renewal

Hello, I currently work at a magnet hospital that does not provide mandatory certification classes at the hospital. Currently, I have to find a class that provides initial or recertification classes, then apply for reimbursement at the hospital, take the class and pay for it out of pocket, and then receive reimbursement from the hospital for the class (if approved) at a later date.

My previous place of employment provided these classes on-site, therefore I would be paid for my hours spent at the class in my following paycheck. It was a much simpler process and I was paid for the time I spent in the classroom. My current situation does not reimburse me for the lost time.

Just wondering how it works at other hospitals, as I am trying to fight this at my current place of employment. Any contributions would be much appreciated!
