Hi everyone. I was recently accepted to an 11 month LPN Program that starts September 4th and I am extremely excited yet very nervous at the same time:yeah:. I really don't know what to expect in the beginning. I have been chatting with some people and learning about their experiences but I know that it's different for everyone. Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to expect, what I might need, and anything else that you think may be helpful. Thanks a million!!! :nuke:

Congratulations!!! Do you have an orientation before classes start? If you do that will be your best guide for how to prepare for your particular school. Hopefully you'll have some time to do some pre-reading from your textbooks, or if not you can get a book on LPN subjects (LPN Facts Made Incredibly Easy is one I found through a quick Google search, but I can't vouch for it personally). Basically just take the time before school starts to familiarize yourself with the subjects and do a little pre-reading. Best of luck!!
Thanks Tharem. Yes I do have an orientation, well it's actually called a "Reception". The students that are graduating this year put it on for the class that is coming in. We get to meet and talk to the graduating class about their experiences and get advice from them and we also get to meet all of our fellow students for the upcoming class. I believe that we will find out about our textbooks and everything that the school requires us to have then. That's on August 5th, so hopefully I'll get some good advice there. Thanks again!
Oh that's excellent, the experiences of senior students can be invaluable, but I would suggest that you take horror stories about particular professors with a grain of salt - people have different personalities and what one person finds annoying or intolerable might not bother another person at all, or they might find something else in that person that they like which outweighs the bad but which the other person doesn't see at all.
Generally i've found that when most students say a teacher is 'great', those teachers are generally universally liked and respected, but when they say a teacher is a monster it's usually not true to the same degree (but there is usually a grain of truth to it). Just don't go into it with a preconceived negative attitude about a particular professor, judge each one for yourself.
