Accepted to Galen Tampa RN program!

I just found out I am accepted to Galens RN program in Tampa. I was wondering if anyone else on here will be attending the May RN program. Or if any alumni have any suggestions for me. :yeah:

Well first off Congratulations! I completed the LPN program at Galen last year. I loved the program and the teachers and I felt like I learned A LOT. Galen has a very good reputation in the area. Most of my friends continued in the LPN-RN bridge program and I really wanted to as well but couldnt spend the money and be in school full time... needed to start working full time, so I finished my degree through another program. Anyway, my friends will be graduating the RN program in May... and they have all made it this far through a tough program and I'm very proud of them. I wish I could have afforded to continue and get the education they did. It is a hard program though, just like the LPN program. During the LPN program we lost almost half our class by the end of the year... but they were mostly the ones that didn't want it bad enough (didn't study or had too many absences or tardies) or else they had to quit for personal reasons. If you work hard though, you will definitely make it through. So I guess that's my only advice... is to work hard... right from the beginning. If you fall behind it can be very hard to catch up. But it's a great school... I would recommend it to anyone. My boyfriend is trying to get into the May LPN program there.

Thanks for replying. I definitely am prepared to work hard. A little nervous about it being hard.

Stephanie,

I am starting Galen RN program in November, how has the program been for you?

Hello Stephanie!

I am looking forward to get some information about the RN program at Galen. I need to wait until Monday so I can speak with an advisor, but maybe you can be of some help for me.

Do you know if they are still accepting students for the November start?

How long is the program? How much is the program? Do you need to take an entrance exam? If yes, which one and the passing score? If you could provid eme any information that would be great!

I am sorry to throw a buch of questions on you!

Have a great one and I am looking forward to hearing from you! :D

Thanks!

Brazillian,

I may be able to answer some of your questions I just got accepted into the November RN program so I know where you are. The program is 24 months and it's rolling admissions to get into the program (first come first serve) the committee meets every Thurs to review applications and they've had 2 meetings to let people in for Nov program. The entrance exam is the NLN PAX..it's verbal, math, and science, you need to score at least a 96 out of I wanna say 200. The program is 108 credits and it's 275 a credit, but if you have some pre reqs done and they transfer in it's obvi gonna be cheaper. They also have you meet with someone from financial aide as soon as your excepted. Hope I was able to help! If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Stephanie,

John from school here.....let me know how you are doing. Wish I was with you.
