Just checking to see if there is anyone else who got in...may be classmates. Looks like its being taught in Titusville this year. Good luck to those who are also trying to get in!

How many points did you have to get in?
When I met with the advisor I think I was in the mid 20s but all my transcripts didn't come through yet, and she said I would be re-evaluated during the admission period. She also said the points aren't the only factore. She also said that this score is different from the regular nursing scale and didn't include NET scores, which I was in the 80 to 90 percentile with 13 years as a paramedic. I also got my paramedic from BCC (alumni). When I applied I went by what was online, but she said the online stuff isn't in effect yet, so I was a little taken off course with where I was actually standing. I even typed an essay. Not sure if that helped, but I got a letter.
Thats great for you! Congratulations! I'm hoping to get in Spring of 10 and was wondering how many points gets you in. If you look online it says it's completely a point based system, but the few people I've talked to say it depends on what you score on the NET as well. I'm worried because I don't have any healthcare experience and won't have micro when it's time to apply. I'm just trying to get a feel for it! But again, Congrats to you!!
Just do the best you can. The advisor said it is more competitive than then regular nursing program as they only admit 25 or so with about 140 applications. My GPA wasn't stellar, but I think I did have the experience and did well on the NET, so that possibly helped. I was told the next class will be based off whats listed online so that is a good guide to follow.
If you want to take an easy Mico class to get that under your belt, St. Petersburg college offers one online (including the lab). It will be treated exactly the same as a lecture class. St Pete college is actually a really good school and the costs are the same. They even have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing online too. I have taken several classes and have aced them. Just file transcripts, enroll, then register for the class. I took the one from the instructor Citron, because you don't have to have your midterms proctored. All open book, all open notes.
Again, if you could whip that out before next year, like this summer and get an A (I have a 96 in class and 98 in lab), that would help, and it is all online.
Good luck to you!

Hey fyrace - are you currently enrolled in one of Citron's online classes this semester? I am taking her lab and lecture online this semester so I was just curious which class number you are enrolled in?
Yes, I am in her class. Lecture is 2568 and lab is 2508.
Oh, that's too funny...I'm in the same classes!! That lecture mid-term was more difficult than I thought it would be, but I still made a B - would have liked an A but oh well. I made a 97 on the lab mid-term...
Yeah, I think the class is relatively easy. Got a 94 on class midterm and an 89 on the lab. Have a solid A in both classes so that won't be a problem. Are you in at Brevard or just searching around?
While I think the class is easy, some of the answers to choose from on the tests are pretty much "pick the best one" sometimes. No, I am in Pinellas county attending St Pete College hoping to apply to their nursing program next spring or fall. Right now I have solid A's in both classes, the only one I might get a B in depending on the rest of the semester is the lecture. Not sweating the lab at all.
