Hi all,
I'm just graduating high school and am starting to take my pre reqs for acc's mobility nursing program. I am super intimidated by how hard it seems to get into the actual program. Even if i make all a's and a 100 on the HESI exam I don't think that would be enough points for the first time applying. Is there any way I could apply to the program before all my coreqs are done so I could start as soon as I'm done with those with the extra review points I would get? I know you have to finish all Pre reqs before you can take the HESI, but what about coreqs? Sorry about all the questions
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,
I just finished up my prereqs at ACC for the traditional track. You aren't eligible for the mobility track unless you are already licensed in some other health care field like sonography, EMT, LVN, etc.. so you will be looking at the traditional track. Traditional track is for those just entering the health care field for the first time.
That being said, do not be intimidated. Go in there, and start knocking out your prereqs and strive for the best grades possible. You cannot apply to sit for the HESI until you complete every prereq. The grades have to be submitted or you are ineligible to sit for it. There are no exceptions and you have to do it in order. All prereqs, all injections up to date, then register and sit for the HESI, then apply to the program. I just finished this semester and I'm finally eligible to sit for the HESI, which I'll be taking May 30. Co-reqs are just fill-ins and not required to apply, but they do boost your points! So take them if you need a fill in class for a semester. Currently I've completed all co-reqs and prereqs. My HESI is the end of the month and I'm applying this July for the Spring 2015 semester. Fall 14 applications ended in March, so you can see, I wasn't able because I was still in my last semester of prereqs.
I may not get in the first time and that's just how it is. I have a 4.0 GPA plus all co-reqs done. If I don't get in, I'll reapply as soon as I can. Every reapplication gives you extra points.
Things are changing again and it looks like future applicants will be applying a year in advance. Just do what you need to do to apply. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I can tell you which professors are amazing and which to avoid!

Do you know if this is effecting prereqs in any way. Applying a year out, but needing to wait until all prereqs are complete in order to do so seems to leave a lot of empty time. Add to that the fact that you likely won't get in on first application.
