Hi everyone,
I am in the process of applying to Texas BSN programs for Spring 2011 admission. I graduated with a B.S. in Human Biology 10 years ago and my grades were hit and miss.
Since my degree was from out of state, I decided to completely re-do my core curriculum and nursing prereqs and apply to BSN programs under Academic Fresh Start.
Has anyone had any experience with this or know anyone that went through this process? I can't find out much about how it might impact my chances for admission and am very curious/nervous.
Thanks in advance for the input!

I applied to two BSN programs using Fresh Start. The only issue you may have is that if you choose to go that route none of your classes from over ten years ago count. I'm not sure how that would work for you since you have a degree. One school required me to send them a letter requesting to use Fresh Start and the reasons why I wanted to use it. The other school had me email them my request. I was accepted into both of the programs I applied to. I did have to follow up on the school that I sent the letter to for them to change my GPA's and give me an interview.
Thank you so much - that is incredibly helpful!
I am will have 46 of my 60 prereq hours complete by the end of the summer and my grades are so much better, so it is a relief to hear that schools really do give non-trad students a second chance - thanks again for the feedback...
