Hello, I graduated from MSU with a BA in Journalism. I currently work in HR in the hospital and I would like to go back to school for my ABSN. I have been researching programs and I was interested in OU's and got admitted. I have been taking the prerequisites that I think I need to take at MCC. I spoke with a counselor at MCC and we went over what OU wants from their traditional program. I thought I only needed a few classes to apply like Chem 1 and Ethics (I'm taking now) organic, a&p but I got a letter saying that my Bio 1 is not sufficient so that adds another class before being able to apply for their program. My Bio class was for non biology majors but I'm trying to get a syllabus for a second opinion. Then I heard I'll have to take micro and lifespan psych after that then I have to wait a year taking informatics, pharm and patho before I start the ABSN program. How long do you think this will take? When do you think I'll be done. Are all programs like this? Any suggestions of faster tracks? What classes could I take together to speed up the process but handle? Or how should I take them? How's OU's program? The nurses I work with raved about OU's. Should I look into other programs? I would like to talk to counselors but you have to apply first before they look at your transcripts. I've scanned my unofficials but no one will look at them.
