hi,

I am enrolling in prenursing courses this semester. Unfortunately, i did not get ant scholarship for this semester. I need some advices.

Specializes in no specialty! (have to graduate first!).

Figure out how to pay for this semester. Do really well in all your classes. And then apply for scholarship that require a certain GPA. At mt school there is an Excellence in Academics scholarship for anyone who gets a 3.5 GPA with 12+ credits. After you complete one semester, check and see if you qualify for Phi Theta Kappa (if your school offers it). PTK is for community colleges. The higher your GPA, the more likely you will be able to qualify for more scholarhips. Also, check online and see if you can find scholarships. Just be very careful about them and do your research and make sure they are legitimate scholarships. But before you do all this, communicate with your financial aid office and see what they have to offer or what they can help you with.

I haven't had any luck with the internet databases of scholarships. However, I've done really well by working with my scholarship office at school. They will know and help you find, the scholarships that best match you. They're also very good about helping you write essays that win scholarships. I also targeted local scholarships over national ones....that's just a numbers game, there are less applicants....so I figured I had a better chance.

Best of luck!!!
