established in april 2003, this scholarship program supports students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master's or doctoral degree in nursing. special consideration will be given to students:

  • enrolled in a master's or doctoral program with the goal of pursuing a nursing faculty career;
  • completing an rn to baccalaureate program (bsn); or
  • enrolled in an accelerated baccalaureate or master's degree nursing program.

award amount: $2500

number of recipients: 6 annually

award duration: 1 year

student affiliate: aacn member school/campusrn members only

Monster and AACN Announce Winners of a New Scholarship Program

Created to Address the Nurse Faculty Shortage

WASHINGTON, DC, and MAYNARD, MA, February 2, 2006 - Monster, the leading global online careers property and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) are pleased to announce that five scholarship winners have been selected to receive $25,000 awards through a new program created to address the growing shortage of nurse faculty. The Monster-AACN Nursing Faculty Scholarship was launched in fall 2005 to support students enrolled in Baccalaureate to Doctoral degree programs.

This year's scholarship winners are a diverse group of students enrolled in both research-focused (PhD) and practice-focused (DNP) doctoral programs.
