A year old LVN...Ehh...with no experience

Published

I graduated Aug 2011, and took my NCLEX passed (yea!) but relocated and was unable to find a job as a newly licensed LPN (in that state-and for most part has phased LPNs out) and had to work at totally unrelated field. I moved back to state graduated and am reactivating my license...I know I can do this job...I am taking CE's for reactivating my license but I guess I just wonder...is it like riding a bike, will it come back to you (nursing) when your there daily and working, etc?

Confidence level for new grad is not well anyway but add an extra year...Hope please!

Hello there, glad that you have decided to practice your nursing career, with most nursing jobs you get; remember there should be orientation, it all depends on where you get a job and the company policy, you should be ok, you can also get online and look up how to....perform multiple nursing skills, you can watch videos educating yourself on how to check blood sugars to how to do dressing changes, trach care, foley insertion, gtube feedings and so on and do forth, remember the phrase 'fake it till you make it' let someone direct you when you don't know, don't be afraid to ask questions or ask for help, I wish u all the best.
