Hi All! I am new to allnurses.com because I would really appreciate some input from experienced nurses. I graduated from nursing school last May and have spent the last year working in a very large hospital on a general medical unit. Since I have finally hit my one year mark I have decided to follow my passion for Emergency nursing. I have applied to multiple ED's and have two amazing job offers. One being at a very large Level 1 trauma center and the other at a small community hospital in the town I grew up. I have had so much conflicting advice that I need some more views on this. Many nurses say that the small community hospital ED would be better as I would get much more hands on trauma experience and more support from staff. Others say the large hospital would be better experience wise but would take a long time to work up to the trauma level and much less support from staff. This is such a hard decision to make. Thoughts on this?
