Is true that its easier to get into Cypress if your an Lvn?? What are the prereqs for cypress? Regarding finances for Pacific College, don't you think its pricey? What is the start rate for an LVN?
I know i have a lot of questions!!! I just want to feel confident in the choice i make toward getting to RN. I just don't want to wait so long to get in an Rn program
Thanks for the quick reply

I've done my research.. Concord I think is way more expensive. American Career College and Saddleback College are about $1000.00 more; they give you a free Laptop but then you can buy one for about $300.00 to $600.00. I've been to quite a few Community Colleges too, their waiting list are horrific. I'm sure you know that.
The Pre-regs for Cypress are: English 100
General Anatomy
General Physiology
Human Physiology
Medical Microbiology
I'm taking my last class (English 100) on-line right now while working full-time, then I'll be transferred to RN program next semester.
Good luck:nurse:

Current rate for LVN program is $26,900 for pacific, although rates will increase by 2 or 3 thousand after january 1st (as are the rates of several other shools I talked to). By comparison, CNI was 31k, stanbridge was 28 or 29(but also going up after January) I believe, and concorde is about 30. It may seem like a lot of money, but you may not neccessarily have to pay that amount to attend. If your income for 2007 wasn't too high, you may qaulify for grant money. Through a combination of a great tax guy and a lucky coincidence, I was able to show minimal income last year, so I got like 10,000 in grants. This isn't really specific to pacific college, I'm just saying that if money is tight, don't automatically assume you can't afford these programs. I'm taking the remaining 16,000 in a combination of Stafford and Plus loans (interest is currently 6.25%-8.5%). The stafford loans aren't due until after graduation and all the federal loans have a 10 year repayment term (although there is no penalty for early repayment. The combined minimun payment on the loans is only going to be like $200-220 per month, which is no problem once you get working. Just something to think about....
