The economy was relative strong at the beginning of Trump's administration and now it's measurably more shaky.  Our effective tariff rate is more around 18%, it was around 2% last year.  This means that durable goods will be noticeably more expensive as time goes on.  We are getting to the bottom of the inventory boost that the anticipated tariffs generated among importers.

Full effect of the tariffs will start to be noticeable for consumers goods end September into October, with some food prices sharply rising now: Vegetable prices up 40%.  Thankfully, living next to NJ farms eating their seasonable produce minimal rise along with end of my garden supply.

Wholesale Vegetable Prices Are Skyrocketing. What Does That Mean for Shoppers?

Have others across the country seen an increase?

This impacts Alaska heavily. Most of our retail produce is imported.  However, a relatively high percentage of the population tries to be minimally reliant upon retail food sources.

I am going to be sad when the price of avocados and coffee goes up. Luckily, Washington state produces a fair amount of produce and eggs. We eat less and less meat.

Well, to keep this short and sweet I'll just point out I've never used the term "antifa" in my life.

OK, so you have used the others.?

So, it seems you really know nothing about me or what and how I discuss things.

Of course I don't know you, I am in Scotland but I can get an idea of you by what you write.

Please don't misunderstand me, you have the absolute right to write and say and think what you want. I have the absolute right to disagree with you and to correct you when I think you are wrong, (as you have the right to correct me) all I ask is that anything you do write is accurate and provable and not just propaganda.

Not necessarily.  For example, I've rarely, if at all, have discussed Hilary's emails.

But ya see, if you think I've used antifa and Hilary's emails to back up my points in discussion when I haven't,  some mind find your opinions of me to lack credibility.

It's funny how when conservatives here have an opinion, it's propaganda and is lacking accuracy and truth, but it's perfectly OK for folks like yourself to share things like that Trump is a king or dictator.   ?

We get impressions from the writings of others.  While I might not use specific terminology, I may post and comment in ways that reinforce or support or elevate that unspoken terminology in other ways.

When I share an opinion that is based in nonsense it is expected that other members will share their opinions about the nature of that nonsense.  If my statements are inaccurate or untrue they are challenged.  That's expected.

It's perfectly OK to share opinions about all of the presidents, past and present.  It's OK to compare their records and rhetoric.  It's also OK to question the veracity of those opinions and to discuss what evidence informs those opinions.

This is an interesting article.  It's interesting to see how some people are analyzing the barrage of meme's coming out of this administration.  Some perhaps might be over analyzing it, but at the same time "owning the libs" is a thing as well.

A recent image of Uncle Sam at a crossroads is captioned "Which way, American man?" The phrase is similar to a memesometimes used by right-wing accounts that borrows the title of the 1978 book "Which Way Western Man?" by white nationalist William Gayley Simpson. The book, which was published by a neo-Nazi group, argues Hitler was right and advocates violence against Jews

It's not surprising that team Trump is using openly racist content to increase support of the ICE raids among "conservative" voters and like minded people. Have we ever had another president who was so purposefully and intentionally divisive?

NPR seems to be willing to publish uncomfortable truths about the rise of this fascist regime.

Gov. Newsom's publicist has been recreating social media posts that parody Trump posts, including inserting his image into superhero memes.

It's quite entertaining.

Has anyone here ever had to show their license plate to vote?
