I don't think threatening genocide, asking for 1.5 trilling in military spending, no clear objective or end plan, having our allies be bombed, and an economy around the world being shaken by his words and actions should be part of the plan either.

 

    Trump's "feud" with the Pope might be overblown, but Catholics aren't happy about it. I know a few Catholics that are Republican because of the abortion issue. Also many people for the last two Popes have considered them too "woke". But there are also Catholic swing voters and I think Trump misstepped.

    J D Vance says the Pope should stay in his lane and out of politics, but I don't think his statement were out of line with what any other Pope has said about war and peace.

    The "I'm Catholic and I stand with the Pope" is a thing.

    I frequently watch his Oval Office press conferences along with Air Force One reporters gaggles observing garbled speech, stumbling over common easy words and word salad speeches. He participated in this weeks America Reads the Bible event with pre-recorded assigned reading; Bible was in front of him on the desk but he read straight ahead from teleprompter appeared to be spliced from a few shots/takes, stumbled over few words.

    Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who was the cardiologist to late former Vice President Dick Cheney for nearly 30 years, described what he saw after Trump was caught visibly tired during a White House event on Thursday. The president was speaking with a group of cabinet members about several topics, including health care, prescription drug prices, and the economy, when people started to notice he was nodding off.

    "When a patient tells me that they can't stay awake in meetings, we do formal sleep testing to look for sleep apnea," Reiner wrote. "I'm sure the White House medical team has done this, but the president continues to struggle with daytime somnolence.     I saw some stills of Trump asleep at this event, and it looks like "Weekend with Bernie", with him slumped the smiling sycophants gathered behind him like this is all normal. He is such a despicable old lump that no one seems to care about his wellbeing.

    After put $50 into the gas tank yesterday, only filling 3/4 of the tank, I realized that if gas goes to $6, it will take about $100 for a full tank. In that case, we should put Trump's picture on a $100 bill and start calling it a tank, instead of a C-note or a benjamin.

    He wants his name on everything, doesn't he?

    Of course, $100 to fill a tank would have cost ya $120 (based on natl averages.but probably more in Oregon) when gas was at it's highest under Biden.

    And why is it so expensive in Oregon? They don't even have to hire people to pump your gas for you since you all finally learned how to do that a few years ago.

    Maybe it's expensive because they don't have sales tax? They have lots of miles of state highways with a relatively small population to pay for them.

    Anyway, I miss the mini-serve gas stations. I hate it when I get the smell of gasoline on my hands.

    Maybe so. Of course, they also have income tax rates that are amongst the highest in the nation.

    I hate the smell of gasoline on my hands too. Fortunately, I guess I learned at an early age to not let that happen as I don't recall that ever being a problem.

    I think the issue of residue gasoline on the pump handle has more to do with the fueler before me, than my personal lack of technique. I don't recall pumping my own gas until I was 18 or 19. Before that, I patronized a small mom & pop convenience store (much like the kind Karen described) where they fueled, washed the windshield and checked the oil automatically.

    Perhaps the handles are better quality/maintained now, as this seems to be less of a problem.
