Research to justifty the use of WCON nurses

Hello,

I am an RN student and will graduate in July. I am also on the SC board for the Student Nurses Association. I will be attending the National SNA convention in March.

I am working on a resolution for the national convention which stresses the importance of having WCON nurses on staff at hospitals to do pre and post op teaching for ostomy patients. I am looking for a research article which gives a numerical justification for having these specializes nurses on staff. I am looking for data which shows better outcomes for patients who are treated by an WCON nurse. I have to submit a copy of any sources that I use.

As a student I have seen the results of poor teaching of ostomy patients.
