Nursing Assistant Certified and Registered - Do I need both?

Hi everyone, I've been a CNA for a couple of years now and I've renewed both my CNA license and nursing assistant registration (NAR). I never know if I should renew my NAR, but I do it anyway to be safe. I am pretty sure if I'm a CNA, then I can just let my NAR lapse. However, I just wanted to get confirmation on this matter. I don't want to pay the extra $40.00 to renew my NAR if I don't need it.

Does anyone have feedback? I suppose I could check with my workplace and see if they require both, but I'm just curious to know what others did.

Many thanks!

I would go with what the employer says. In my state we don't even have both, either you are certified or you are not.
