Affordable CNA Course?!

Hey all! I'm currently an NAR working at an AFH in Spokane, Wa and I need to become certified within 150 days of hire and it's closing in around that time for me. My question to you all is this; Does anyone know of a relatively affordable way to become a CNA in Spokane, Wa that does not involve signing up for an expensive college course? I would like to be able to find someplace that will get me certified for around six hundred dollars or less. Any tips would be highly appreciated.

Most courses that I've seen take about 6 weeks...so I think you are starting a bit late. Check the local adult education at the highschools or the local community colleges.

Hey Skayda!

Well..I got my CNA at the american red cross. it was a 1 month program and it cost about $600 (I don't know the exact amount) back in 2010. The price has probably changed since then. I do know, however, that they told me that they would pay for it if I knew someone (like father or mother or grandparents) was or is presently in the military and all I would have to do was write an essay about it. I don't think it's all american red cross locations, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I know where I live there is a place called the NHC and they would train you for free if you are selected for the program.

That sounds great! Congrats! I just finished up a three week CNA course through Healthcare Training Center that cost me $750 but it was worth it and a great program.
