Affordable CNA Course?!
Hey Skayda! Well..I got my CNA at the american red cross. it was a 1 month program and it cost about $600 (I don't know the exact amount) back in 2010. The price has probably changed since then. I do know, however, that they told me that they would pay for it if I knew someone (like father or mother or grandparents) was or is presently in the military and all I would have to do was write an essay about it. I don't think it's all american red cross locations, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. I know where I live there is a place called the NHC and they would train you for free if you are selected for the program. I wish you luck!

CNA before nursing school
I think it is a great idea to become a CNA before and during nursing school! Some schools are making it a requirement to have your CNA before apply to the nursing program. I work on a med-surg floor and all the nurses are so wonderful! The Nurses on my floor know I am in nursing school and they show me everything from inserting a foley catheter to blood transfusions. I 100% recommend it to anyone looking to be a Nurse!

Any Chattanooga State RN hopefuls for 2011?
Hey Chattnursehopeful! I just started to RN program this fall. The acceptance letter is just a regular sized letter in the mail. You don't get all your other papers til later which you pick up at the school. I wish I could tell you how many points previous years had. Stay positive and good luck!

Just do what you think is best for you. I hear nothing but great things about Chattanooga State's program. I've honestly heard more bad than good about Cleveland state. You should decide soon, because you have a lot of paperwork to do and a lot of deadlines you have to meet. You can go ahead and pick up your envelope with everything you need to know for the program. I have monday-wednesday-thursday classes. Let me know what you decide!

Not personally, but I did see a woman where I work who is doing her last clinical for Chatt state. I asked her how it was and she said she liked their program a lot. I know alot of people who say they even think Chatt state has a better program than UTC. The only downside is, chatt state is only an associates and UTC offers a BSN.
